Defective Medical Devices and Products

• MegaDyne Electrodes: Doctors who used these devices during surgery claim that Johnson & Johnson, the manufacturer, didnt warn them the electrodes could cause serious burns. There is a product recall.
• Transvaginal Mesh: More than 20,000 women joined a lawsuit for complications resulting from the use of transvaginal mesh. While the class action lawsuit is closed, women can still file lawsuits in state courts.
• Stryker and DePuy Hip Replacement devices
• DePuy Synthes 4.5mm VA-LCP Curved Condylar Plate: Studies of the product have shown a high failure rate and more complications.
• Allergan textured breast implants: Patients say the manufacturer failed to warn them of an increased risk of anaplastic large cell lymphoma, or BIA-ALCL.
• Abiomed Impella Heart Pumps: The product has been recalled, and litigation is in the early stages.
• Amplatzer Steerable Delivery Sheath: Complications from its use during heart surgery has led to a product recall.
• Bard PowerPort: There are claims that this product can increase the risk of organ damage, infection, and blood clots.
