Suspected DUI driver causes fatal accident that kills 3

An 18-year-old high school senior and his parents recently lost their lives in a wreck in Texas. Reportedly, the fatal accident occurred when the family was driving home from church. According to an accident report by Harris County deputies, they responded to the crash on FM 2920 shortly after midnight on a recent Saturday.

Upon arrival, it was determined that the family’s car was struck by a pickup truck that was operated by a man who disregarded a red traffic light. It was reported that the pickup truck was speeding at the time of the collision. This driver apparently fled the accident scene on foot, but he was chased down by a pedestrian who caught him and held him until police arrived.

The report states that the pickup truck driver smelled of alcohol, and he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Test results to confirm the suspicions are pending. Deputies reported that this was not his first brush with police, and there was an outstanding warrant for him for drunk driving on a previous occasion. He is now facing charges related to suspicion of DUI along with three counts of murder.

While the three occupants of the other car all died at the accident scene, the truck driver suffered only minor injuries for which he was treated at the hospital and released. The surviving family members of those who lost their lives in this fatal accident include a boy and girl — ages 13 and nine respectively. Although they are minors, they are still entitled to retain the services of an experienced Texas wrongful death attorney to pursue recovery of financial and emotional damages for them.
