Wrong-way driver accused of causing fatal car accident, killing 4

When car accidents in Texas are caused by negligent drivers, injured victims and the surviving family members of those who lost their lives are entitled to hold the alleged negligent parties accountable. Such legal action may follow a recent fatal car accident that killed four residents of Kitchener. One of the deceased victims was a 16-month-old baby.

An accident report indicated that the deadly crash occurred early on a recent Friday. Reportedly, a 22-year-old man traveled in the wrong direction on an interstate highway. He crashed into a minivan that was occupied by six people. Two young girls survived the collision, and they received medical treatment before they were handed over to the care of relatives.

Along with the 16-month-old toddler, the others killed included a 30-year-old man, a 27-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man. The wrong-way driver appeared to have suffered injuries because authorities reported that he will be arrested upon his release from the hospital. Officials said he will be facing four counts of vehicular manslaughter.

The families of the four occupants of the minivan who lost their lives in this fatal car accident may pursue financial relief to assist with the high costs related to end-of-life arrangements and other losses. They may file wrongful death claims in a Texas civil court, and once negligence on the part of the other driver is established, monetary judgments may be entered. The court will consider all documented claims that may include financial losses, such as funeral costs and lost income, along with emotional damages, such as emotional trauma, loss of companionship and more.
