Safety should be a top priority for every bus company, but some bus companies cut costs to keep expenses down. This can lead to not enough drivers, poor hiring decisions, delayed maintenance, and other problems that can contribute to bus crashes, passenger injuries, and even deaths. If you or a family member was injured in a municipal bus accident, tourist bus accident, or an interstate bus accident, call a Dallas bus accident lawyer from Ted Lyon Law at 877-833-5966.
From our offices in Dallas and across the state, we represent injured people across North Texas. We provide a FREE initial consultation. Our personal injury attorneys handle claims against companies like Greyhound, Executive Coach, Frisco Coachline, Roadrunner Charters, Champion, and other tour and charter bus companies operating in Texas.
How Do We Hold Companies Accountable After a Bus Accident?
Extensive preparation is often involved to bring a bus accident injury claim to court or to settlement. Because bus companies are subject to federal and state regulations, required records and on-bus equipment can tell part of the story of the bus crash. Passengers and witnesses can tell another part of the story. And the bus itself, as well as the accident scene, will tell more. It may be necessary to bring in experts to review the accident scene, the vehicles themselves, and other critical data. We work with accident reconstruction specialists to help us prove your case.
From an insurance perspective, bus accident cases can be challenging because multiple parties may share fault. A lawsuit might name the bus driver for reckless driving, the bus company for faulty hiring, and a tire company for a defective tire. It is up to the lawyer on your case to present the evidence that proves each party’s fault. Some charter bus companies are fly-by-night operations that declare bankruptcy after a crash and then reincorporate under a new name a few months later. In this way, they hide their record of bad management. Our Dallas bus crash lawyers don’t let them get away with it.
Talk with a Bus Accident Lawyer Sooner Rather Than Later
Many charter buses in Texas carry $5 million in liability insurance. While that may seem like a lot of insurance, if dozens of passengers are injured or killed in an accident, it will not be enough. When the insurance money runs out, those who are late in filing a personal injury claim may end up with less. A victim may also need to access their own uninsured and underinsured motorist policy.
Our firm has 50+ years of proven success achieving verdicts and settlements for injured people. Our Dallas attorneys are relentless fighters for what is right for our clients, regardless of the size of the bus company on the other side of the crash case.
