How Do We Advocate For the Injured?
At Ted Lyon Law, we vigorously represent people who have suffered harm due to building code violations, construction defects, and other types of property owner negligence in Dallas. Our lawyers thoroughly investigate each case, document negligence and identify all possible sources of compensation. When you hire us, we will work with determination to obtain the best possible settlement or jury award for you.
State And Local Building Codes Are Complex
The State of Texas has adopted regulations covering the structural components and mechanical systems of buildings. For example, there are separate codes covering boilers, electrical systems, fire safety, plumbing, structural components, gas systems, and energy efficiency. Local municipalities are free to amend these regulations to suit the needs of their communities.
Consequently, investigating a building code violation that results in a serious injury or death can be a very complex undertaking. To assist us in this effort, we retain the services of experts in construction materials, mechanical systems, and other specialties who can provide key insights and, if necessary, testify at trial.
Our Dallas attorneys also examine causation and insurance coverage issues to assign liability to the responsible party or parties for injuries caused by building code violations. This could include the property owner, the construction company, subcontractors, and their respective insurance companies.
