Operating an 18-wheeler requires a great deal of skill. Drivers need to be fully alert at all times when they are behind the wheel, and even the slightest impairment can place every other person on the road in danger. In too many instances, commercial truck drivers consume alcohol or use drugs that impact their ability to drive. When this reckless behavior leads to serious auto accidents, victims have the right to seek fair compensation for their injuries.
At Ted Lyon Law, we have extensive experience representing clients who have been injured by a truck driver who was driving while impaired by drugs or alcohol. Our truck crash attorneys have a long history of success in these matters, and we are prepared to help you seek the compensation you are entitled to receive. If you have been injured in a drunk driving truck accident in Dallas, call our firm today at 877-Ted-Lyon (833-5966) for a free consultation.
Holding Negligent Texas Truck Drivers and Their Truck Companies Accountable
Under the law, a driver behind the wheel of a commercial vehicle is considered legally intoxicated when he or she has a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .04 percent or higher. In addition, the use of any drug—prescription or an illegal substance—that impairs the driver’s ability to safely operate a commercial vehicle can create liability for an auto accident.
We are thorough in our investigation of alcohol and drug-related truck accidents in Dallas. The drivers and their employers will attempt to deny the involvement of drugs or alcohol and may try to attribute it to distracted driving or some other cause. We look at police reports, test results, accident scene photos, and any other evidence in an effort to present a powerful case for your damages claim. When necessary, we will bring in accident reconstructionists and other experts to support your claim.
